Do I need to be a certain age to purchase tickets?
Yes. You must be 18 years of age or older at the time you purchase tickets. All raffle winners will be required to provide identification with proof of age in order to claim raffle prizes.
How many tickets can I buy?
You may purchase as many tickets as you choose.
Where am I eligible to purchase raffle tickets from?
The raffle is only open to legal residents of NY who are 18 years of age, or older.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We do not accept cash, checks, money orders or PayPal at this time.
Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?
No. The IRS does not recognize raffle ticket purchases as a tax-deductible contribution.

When will I receive my ticket numbers?
Once your order has been processed, you will receive a receipt containing your ticket numbers either in person, or via email if your purchase was online. If you have purchased tickets online, and do not see your email receipt right away, please be sure to check your spam or junk folders. If you still cannot locate your receipt, you can email us at raffle@rmsyr.org.
Do I have any tax liability if I win a raffle?
The taxable value of the prize will be treated as ordinary income to the winner for federal and state income tax purposes, and the winner will be required by law to pay the tax liability, if any, incurred in connection with his/her receipt of a prize. If you are a winner, it is important that you determine what federal, state and/or local taxes you must pay and you are encourage to consult with an accountant or tax professional to make that determination.

Yes. You must be present where ticket sales are being offered, or physically located in the State of New York to purchase a raffle ticket online. For online purchases, you must enable location services on your computer, tablet or phone so that our website can utilize geo-location procedures to determine whether you are located in the State of New York. If you are, then you will be required to create a user account and verify you are over the age of 18 in order to purchase tickets online.
Why do I have to create a user account to purchase raffle tickets online?
According to the laws of the State of New York for online raffle ticket purchases, you are required to create a user account in order to purchase raffle tickets. During that process, your age will be verified and you will receive a login and password to your account. Thereafter, you can return to your account to review your purchases, purchase raffle tickets for future raffle offerings, etc.
Do I need a user account to purchase raffle tickets on location?
No. You only need a user account to purchase raffle tickets online. You can still purchase raffle tickets on location without creating an online user account.
How do I prevent my kids from purchasing raffle tickets?
Anyone under the age of 18 will not be allowed to create a user account for the purchase of raffle tickets. Yes. We can deactivate and delete your account at any time. Please email us at raffle@rmsyr.org if you would like to delete your account.
I’m not allowed to create a user account? What happened?
If your age verification has failed because you are not over the age of 18, you will not be allowed to create a user account or purchase tickets. It is also possible you have been excluded from creating a user account on the basis of the NYS Gaming Commission’s self-exclusion list maintained pursuant to 9 NYCRR Section 5403.2. If you believe it is a mistake that you are being excluded, please contact us as at raffle@rmsyr.org.
Is my ticket purchase tax-deductible?

How will my purchase appear on my statement?
The charge will appear on your statement as “RM 50/50 Raffle”.
What is the refund policy?
All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable.
How do you generate ticket numbers?
Your ticket numbers are generated via an automated process upon completion of your order. Once your order has been processed, you will receive a receipt containing a summary of your order and your ticket numbers either in person, or via email if your purchase was online.
